Dr. Fiona Simpson
CEO and Co-Founder
Fiona received her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the Université de Montréal. Her graduate thesis is on biomimetic materials for in situ corneal regeneration. She received her Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology from McMaster University in 2007. Fiona served as the director of the OPhthalmic Tissue Engineering Cleanrooms (OPTEC) at Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont since their inception in 2018 to 2021. She has also worked as a technician for the manufacture of ISO 13485:2016 compliant medical devices.
Elle received her doctorate in polymer chemistry from Uppsala University in 2018. Elle also holds a Master’s degree in Molecular Genetics and Physiology as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Linköping University. As a postdoctoral fellow, she developed new biomaterials formulations for corneal implants and in situ fillers. Elle has previously worked as a technician for the manufacture of ISO 13485:2016 compliant medical devices.

Benjamin Yam
CFO and Co-Founder
Benjamin is a leader in healthcare business and operations management with a demonstrated history of working in the public and private healthcare sectors. He has scaled small health teams and clinics to large multi-department teams and profitable success. Benjamin received his MBA in the Global Health Executive stream from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. Benjamin previously served as a Regional Director at MyHealth Centre, the largest diagnostic health facility in Ontario.
